Let’s see how each chakra contributes to forming a personality like that of a leader.
Muladhara or Root Chakra, located at the base of your spine, makes you feel more grounded, stable and secure when it’s balanced.
Physical symptoms- lower back pain, constipation, or other digestive issues
Emotional symptoms- Anxiety, fear, insecurity, instability
Suppose there's a team leader who is responsible for managing a group of employees in a high-pressure environment. If this leader has an imbalanced Muladhara or Root Chakra, they may experience feelings of insecurity or anxiety about their potential to lead the entire team head on which ultimately results in making decisions that are hasty and impulsive. Without establishing clear goals or boundaries for their team and a lack of confidence from their side may make it difficult for them to assert their authority when required.
On the other hand, with a balanced root chakra, the leader would make decisions in a calm and composed manner while setting clear expectations for the team in a confident manner. Additionally, they may feel safer and more stable at the workplace which would make them feel more at ease and help them in understanding the problems in a better manner.
Swadhisthana or Sacral Chakra, located in the lower abdomen just above the navel, is linked to the feeling of joy and intimacy in life and when balanced, it makes you feel emotionally stable and helps you express yourself better.
Physical symptoms: Lower back pain, sexual dysfunction, digestive issues
Emotional symptoms: Irritability, difficulty expressing emotions, lack of creativity
Suppose there’s a team leader who has to run a marketing campaign. Now, with a sacral chakra that is out of balance, they may experience a creative block which wouldn’t allow them to come up with good ideas or connect with their team members on a personal level. Lack of motivation and engagement would ultimately result in compromising the quality of work.
Whereas with a balanced Swadhisthana Chakra, they can tap into their creativity and come up with innovative ideas while also motivating themselves as well as their team to work harder through emotional intelligence.
Manipura or Solar Plexus Chakra, located in the upper abdomen defines your self confidence and the ability to assert yourself by establishing boundaries and taking action in life.
Physical symptoms- Fatigue or low energy, weight issues, digestive issues
Emotional symptoms- Anxiety, low confidence, lack of direction
Suppose there are two individuals who are preparing for the same competitive exam or involved in the same career. The first one has a blocked Solar Plexus Chakra and thus they lack motivation and confidence and tend to procrastinate on studies or get overwhelmed by the exam or competitive nature of their career. They may face difficulty in focusing and may give up easily when faced with setbacks.
On the other hand, the second person, with a balanced Manipura Chakra, has a sense of purpose and has a trust in their abilities. As a result, they approach the exams or job search with a growth mindset and are determined to achieve their goals.

Anahata or Heart Chakra located in the center of the chest near the heart defines your sense of love and compassion for self as well as others and how emotionally balanced you are.
Physical symptoms- Chest pain and discomfort, respiratory issues, weak immune system
Emotional symptoms- Lack of empathy, difficulty forgiving, loneliness
Let’s take the example of a successful CEO in a marketing agency. They’re confident in their work and keen on chasing their path to progress. But then they realize that they’ve been so busy doing this that they often forget to show empathy and compassion towards their team.
On realizing this, they do a chakra healing meditation meant specifically for the heart chakra which helps them develop a deep sense of compassion and empathy towards their colleagues.
They start scheduling regular one-on-one meetings with team members, providing them with constructive feedback, and acknowledging their hard work and contributions as a part of their new approach.
Vishuddha or Throat Chakra located in the center, near the throat determines your ability to communicate clearly and authentically.
Physical symptoms- Sore throat, neck pain, teeth grinding
Emotional symptoms- Feeling unheard or misunderstood, fear of speaking
Let's say you're a student who has to give a presentation in class. With a balanced Vishuddha Chakra you’ll be able to engage confidently with your audience by expressing yourself clearly and confidently for answering questions as well as convey your ideas in any easy manner.
However if your Vishuddha Chakra is imbalanced, you’ll find it difficult to organize your thoughts and ideas and find the right words to express yourself which might make you come out as shy, intimated or nervous.
By working on balancing your Vishuddha chakra through practices such as speaking affirmations, practising public speaking, or throat chakra meditations, you can improve your ability to communicate clearly and confidently, and build your self-confidence in academic and other areas of life.
Ajna or Third Eye Chakra, located in between the eyebrows, helps you tap into your intuitive powers and inner wisdom to understand yourself as well as others around you.
Physical symptoms: Headaches or migraines, dizziness, insomnia
Emotional symptoms: Lack of clarity and awareness, difficulty in decision making.
Let’s consider the situation in which you’re required to make an important decision about your career or personal life and you’re unsure of what to do.
If your Ajna Chakra is imbalanced, you’ll be confused, unclear and overwhelmed which will make you feel stuck in indecision, thus defeating the entire purpose.
But if your Ajna Chakra is balanced, you can tap into your intuition and make decisions with a clear mind for your overall well being. This can lead to greater confidence, direction, and purpose in both your personal and professional life.
Sahasrara or Crown Chakra, located on the top of your head, determines your sense of purpose in life by building on self awareness and clarity of thoughts.
Physical symptoms: Chronic fatigue, sleep disorder, headaches.
Emotional symptoms: Anxiety, lack of purpose, feeling of disconnection.
Imagine you’re the team leader of a team of five which is working on a project with tight deadlines.
So, if you have a blocked Sahasrara Chakra, you may find it difficult to make decisions and lead the team effectively which would result in failure to meet deadlines.
But if you have an open Sahasrara Chakra, you’ll be able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each team member, and assign tasks and responsibilities accordingly. Additionally, you’ll be able to identify the goals for the project and communicate it clearly to your team.
It’s no mistake saying that everyone can be a leader. All you need to do is make an effort to activate your chakras everyday for better stability, communication and intuition. When you work on understanding your chakras and activating them, you turn out to feel much better, physically, mentally and emotionally.
