“To acquire the habit of reading is to construct for yourself a refuge from almost all the miseries of life.” — W. Somerset Maugham
It's no secret that reading has multiple benefits. However, despite knowing all this—you may still find it hard to simply pick up a book and read.
If you feel that reading is ‘not your thing’, here’s one way to change that.
Read the right book. If you're trying to force yourself through a ‘classic’ who's topic you have absolutely no interest in, it's unlikely that you will find it enjoyable.
A better approach may be to pick up something you'd actually like to know more about!
Well, how to find the ‘right book’?
Even if these aren’t literary classics, they make you want to read—and that’s the initial goal. Once you start getting into reading, then you can pick up something out of your comfort zone.
Read what you love until you love to read.
